Aquatics
Our standard aquaria rack systems are designed specifically for the African Clawed Frog Xenopus spp. and Zebrafish Danio rerio, but over the years our experts have designed and built custom systems for over 150 different aquatic organisms. No project is too big or too small.
We supply both live (liquid) and dry food for zebrafish, such as daphnia, rotifers, artemia and support products for maintaining and growing your own culture, as well as dry food for different growth stages.
We also supply semi-automatic food guns and a fully automatic feederbot. Water quality is an important parameter and we provide you the tools to keep on top of it. We can also help you speed up your image analysis through AI based software.
Compact Culture System for Zooplankton
Live zooplankton such as rotifers and Artemia are essential first-feeds for the larvae of many fish (for example, Clownfish). The APBreed Compact Culture System (CCS) is designed to make a benchtop-scale culture of zooplankton easy and reliable.
The CCS combines a conveniently-sized 5-gallon bucket with a custom-made fitting that incorporates an aerator and a particulate waste trap. Aeration provides oxygenation and water circulation that draws particulate wastes into the trap (floss).
Daily maintenance of the culture (aside from feeding and harvesting) requires only 5 minutes to flush the wastes from the trap and brush the interior surfaces of the bucket. The CCS is sturdy and easily transported, and includes a flexible translucent cover that isolates the culture from contamination.
GSL Artemia Cysts
Ocean Nutrition GSL Artemia Cysts are harvested from the surface of the Great Salt Lake in Utah (USA). After processing, a quality assesment is performed. Each harvest is subjected to extensive fingerprinting to categorize all important characteristics and parameters such as hatching and enrichment kinetics, separation, decapsulation, fatty acid profile, and biometrics. Based on the result of this fingerprint, Ocean Nutrition grades and offers the Artemia Cysts that are best suited for fish and shrimp hatcheries.
GEMMA Micro ZF
GEMMA Micro is dry feed for zebrafish. GEMMA Micro is formulated with a high percentage of soluble hydrolyzed marine proteins, HUFAs, phospholipids, and algae, resulting in each particle exhibiting a striking green color. GEMMA Micro is a highly stable feed exhibiting excellent physical characteristics.
LAbREED™ Zebrafish Tanks
The LAbREED™ Zebrafish Tanks are designed specifically for the LAbREED™ Zebrafish System and come in three sizes : 2 litre, 4.5 litre and 9 litre. They only consist of three parts, tank, tank lid and adult baffle, and are therefore very easy to clean and to set up.
Test Strips for Natural Water
The Insta-TEST® 5 Way test strips for Natural Water provide fast results for Nitrate, Nitrite, pH, Alkalinity and Total Hardness. Just dip the strip into the water and receive accurate, instant results. The formula is designed for stable color development to allow adequate time for the user to match very distinct colors while preventing crosscontamination between pads. Multi Rack Systems
Our designers and project managers have been designing and installing multi rack systems with central life support since 1997. Our filtration design has been refined over the years to include the best equipment suited for the lab environment, the staff, and the aquatic research organisms. Iwaki Aquatic life support systems are simple, fail-safe, and easy to maintain. We ensure that your multi-rack system is easy to clean and service with all components easily accessible. Our systems can be completely broken down into smaller sections for deeper cleaning and disinfection.
Filtration systems include single or dual rotating micro-screen systems with minimal consumables. Polypropylene and Stainless Steel UV units are options. We use low maintenance moving bed bio-filtration, quiet and dependable Iwaki pumps, Walchem controllers, stainless steel and titanium heaters/chillers, and only high quality non-corrosive, non-toxic materials.
Our Walchem controllers are proven through years of service in the global water treatment market. Advanced controller technology provides instant alarm notification from any web browser, keeping on-site and off-site personnel notified of system performance.

The handheld portable TRACER PockeTester™ for Dissolved Oxygen measures Oxygen levels displayed as % Saturation from 0 to 200.0% or Concentration from 0 to 20.00 ppm (mg/L)
FishGun D2 Solid Feed Dispenser
The FishGun D2 is a semi-automatic diet delivery device. It is designed to facilitate the feeding of aquatic animals such as zebrafish in research facilities. Created for precision dispensing of different types and sizes of dry powdered and granulated diets.
The systems 75 ml diet dispensing tube allows precision dispensing of solid feed from 75µm up to 600µm – in size. The tube has a translucent wall for clear visibility, is resistant to alcohols and light organic solvents, and is stable from -80°C to +121°C.
The FishGun D2 ensures faster, more accurate, and reproducible feed dosage by the means of vibrations. Its ergonomic design reduces fatigue, musculoskeletal disorders and reduces technician time spent on feeding.
With the use of the integrated RFID scanner, this system identifies different tanks and delivers the right amount of feed required according to the number of fish housed in each tank.
